Huacachina

Haucachina was once a retreat for the Peruvian elite, but now it's pretty much a party town for backpackers. There are only 200 people living there, and it's mostly hostels, restaurants, and tour guides. People paddle around the lagoon in boats or sandboard down the dunes. I sat by the pool and that evening climbed a sand dune to watch the sunset.

I got this room for $7.50 a night.

There was trash all over the dunes, mostly plastic bags. Sad.
